Why do people hate the New England Patriots so much?

Everywhere i go, people always tell me that the Patriots suck and Tom Brady is terrible, even though the stats (such as Brady's 50 touchdown season and going to the super bowl 4 times in 8 years) completely prove this wrong. Why is this? (keep in mind i live in St Louis)
