Router keeps disconnecting?

Realtek network adapter (RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC) keeps disconnecting when I'm on the internet. To make it reset I have to go re-configure speed and duplex from Auto Negotiation to something else like 100 Mbs Half or Full Duplex. Why does this keep happening? How can I fix it so it doesn't keep disconnecting?
