Shorten my period by shortening the amount of placebo days?

The placebo pills don't "cause" the period. The period is caused by stopping the active pills. (Note: it's ok to skip the placebo pills, they are just there to remind you when to start your next pack of pills). Starting the next pack early may not stop the period and may not be effective against pregnancy...check with your doctor.
