"You're lucky, so shut up" Parenting?

When i was moved to my foster home at 8 years old I was lucky if i ever got treats. We never got to eat at McDonald's (which is a child's dream) and only on special occasions were we aloud to eat treats or even just have a snack. I am a parent of three kids now and i tell you i am completely opposite with my kids. I give them treats, sometimes they get happy meals and they snack on fruits and veggies all the time. I let them eat whenever they want and it makes them a lot more happy. I hated being hungry and having to wait for a meal to be cooked and then there is the chance it would be something i didn't even like.
