If there is a scientist who shows great promise in finding a cure for cancer but is an outspoken racist....?

Scientists are to follow a code of ethics. He/she should be fired. If he/she made breakthroughs, then other scientists can follow through on the studies. It's never just one person who discovers these breakthroughs. Even laboratory technicians make discoveries. His/her work will continue. He/she should be fired.
