I was told i had fibroids in my uterus?

i have been pregnant 4 times have 3 living children and i'm only 24 yrs old. went to dr. tuesday because i've been having pain with a lot of bleeding. and he checked me and said i had fibroids. he wants me to come back in 2 weeks for sonogram to see if i need hysterectomy. has anyone this young had one done and been okay with hormones and stuff
