Can tithing go to mission work instead?

If you want your money to go to missions then you make an offering. Churches collect both tithes and offerings. Tithes go to support the church workers. Offerings are used for everything else. The Bible tells us that we should all give back a tithe and suggests that we also give back an offering to further God's work, including missionary work.
