Who else thinks bank should not be allowed to advertise loans and credit cards?

i paid of all my debts about six months ago , and since then i am bombarded with letters and calls asking if i want to have a loan or a credit card , after i paid my credit card off they upped my limit on the card to 10,000 pound with out asking me , i think they prey on desperate people .
