Are we too soft on teenagers today in the way we do things day to day?

are our teenagers to spoilt and over protected by authority.is this the reason why they misbehave. is it because we do not give them time to grow up and they are becoming Adults early. or are we giving our children too much freedom.and do we smother them too much in learning and why is it worse now than a few years ago. what has changed
